Laura Bell Bundy's Horseshoe by Louis Farkovitz

Artist Louis Farkovitz Helps Country Singer Laura Bell Bundy Make a Glamorous Entrance

Early in 2010, New York City Artist Louis Farkovitz designed a gorgeous 18 karat Green Gold & Diamond Horseshoe Pendant for Broadway to Country Music “Giddy On Up” phenom, Laura Bell Bundy. Originally created as a birthday gift for the performer, the pendant was subsequently used as the bigger than life model for her ceiling to floor stage entrance at the Academy of Country Music Awards in April 2010. Uniquely created in 18 karat green gold, the horseshoe is set with ten diamonds, and hangs askew from a gold link chain. The edge sports an open gallery, and the tell tale upper echelon quality of a finely fashioned grill on the reverse that demonstrates the quality design and workmanship of the piece. Farkovitz brings to the table his experience in product development with a world renown, award winning designer jewelry and fashion accessories company. He playfully uses the slang expression “Just because you don’t see it, doesn’t mean it's not there” to convey his belief jewelry should be beautiful everywhere, from every view.

Universal Music Group’s Label released Ms. Bundy’s ablum “Achin & Shakin” April 13, 2010, debuting at number 5 on Billboard’s County Music Charts. Her first video, “Giddy On Up” is a sassy, fun, portrayal of a jilted lover, and was released on CMT.com January 18, 2010 and has had well over 1.5 Million streams since that time. The song inspired dance contests and video improvisation across YouTube, and was well complimented by Ms. Bundy’s comedic Cooter County charters reminiscent of Tracy Ullman and Carol Burnett’s hilarious characterizations. Ms. Bundy has quickly become Nashville’s Darling, recently enjoying her debut at the Grand Ole Opry and is nominated for the CMT’s 2010 USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year.

On the face of the Achin’ & Shakin album the “u” in Bundy is slightly offset, and likewise, was the inspiration for the presentation angle of the pendant from its chain. The horseshoe, long a symbol for good fortune, is also representative of Ms. Bundy’s deep Kentucky roots and her love of Horse Country. She has worn the Farkovitz design as a signature piece during performances and interviews since February of 2010. Ms. Bundy states, “I've always had a love for horseshoes... I'm from the Horse capital of the world, my family wears them and they keep me lucky. With Louis' piece I get to have my very own unique horseshoe made for me.”

After numerous requests for copies of Ms. Bundy’s horseshoe she graciously agreed to allow Farkovitz to reproduce the piece for others. Signed, numbered copies of the original piece are now available directly from its designer for $3,100.00. The pieces are originally produced, by hand, and take up to four weeks to produce here in the United States. More moderately priced versions of the horseshoe are currently under development and will be available in Sterling Silver with Black Diamonds in July 2010.

In addition to fine jewelry, Farkovitz also creates one of a kind custom embellished nickel silver and gemstone electric guitars for musicians and collectors alike. Follow the links at this site.
